The Robin Bridge is located in Nuriootpa on Murray Street. It was constructed in the early 1960s on land partly donated by the Robin family. The bridge is the responsibility of the State Government.
In 2012 the handrail paint was flaking, leaving the bare metal exposed and an unsightly mess for locals and tourists alike.
It was rumoured that a repaint would cost approximately $600,000 however thanks to Ivan Venning and the support of local Barossa community via donations of equipment, reduced paint prices and volunteer labour by Craig Marston Painters, the job was completed for around $2,000.
It was great to have Craig Marston Painting volunteer their time and effort to help me repaint the Robin Bridge in Nuriootpa. This has been a project I have wanted to see completed for a very long time for the community and in November 2012 the job was completed.
I would like to say a huge thank you to Craig and his team, Dulux and Barossa Mitre 10 for supplying all the paint. Without Craig and his team, I’m not sure that I would have got the job done!
An inspection from the Environment Protection Authority (EPA) ruled that the conduct of everyone involved in the painting of Robin Bridge was professional and the job was well done.IVAN VENNING, MP
